KOKESHI
COLLECTION

In 2025, Kokeshi received international recognition at the Architecture Madrid Awards (AMA), awarded the “Premio Straordinario — El arte eterno de la piedra” (Extraordinary Prize — The Eternal Art of Stone). The award recognizes the collection as an outstanding example of craftsmanship and creative ingenuity within Kleos Design.

Kokeshi is conceived and realized under the creative direction of Elisabetta Di Maddalena, an Italian creative director and designer known for transforming Roman travertine into functional objects with a strong artistic dimension. In her work, stone is treated not only as a material, but as a cultural language—capable of connecting traditions and offering a contemporary perspective on form, permanence, and meaning.

Presented in New York, Kokeshi showcases a series of sculptural figures carved in Roman travertine. Each piece is defined by soft geometry, subtle variation, and a calm presence—bridging contemporary design language with a material rooted in architectural history. The opening takes place on May 8 as a public event, welcoming visitors to encounter the collection in person.

Materiali

Kokeshi is carved from Roman travertine, selected for its warmth, porosity, and quiet depth. Each figure is shaped to preserve the stone’s natural texture and tonal variations—so no two pieces are ever identical.
